OK. Anyone who knows me very well knows how seriously I take my coffee and I ask everyone to please understand that this rant is being caused by the KitchenAid Corporation. [RANT BEGINS] The red lid to our KitchenAid coffee makers carafe has broken. The part number (8211965) has been discontinued by KitchenAid (and/or Whirlpool since they owned the original manufacturer). The carafe (WITH the plastic lid included) is still available for sale, but the lid by itself is no longer available. That is asinine. I wonder how many KitchenAid replacement carafes get returned to stores or online vendors because the lid just wasnt in there after someone needed just a lid? Unfortunately, this approach is unacceptable to me. I chatted with Crystal on KitchenAids website, who couldnt (or wouldnt) help me and she surprised me with her response of lol ok when I said I would just stop buying KitchenAid altogether. Apparently we have different ideas of what is Customer Service. If KitchenAid deigns to contact me with a better solution, Ill update this post so they dont continue to look like idiots any longer than necessary. [RANT ENDS] Id 3D print a replacement if I were confident that 3D printed parts wouldnt taint my coffee. {sigh}
