OK. This has been nagging at me for a very long time: It seems that any time I go outside in the evening, at some point, I watch a street light go out. Sometimes it happens more than once a night. Im talking about years of this. Dont know what it means, if anything. But, really, the law of averages just doesnt hold up here. Ive noted that, no matter what time I get home from work, the light on the corner goes out when I walk under it. This phenomena has followed me from Jenkintown, PA in the 70s and early 80s. Then I noticed it in South Philly and later in Atlantic City and all up and down the Jersey Shore. Back in Pennsylvania, in Lebanon and now in New Orleans. I think- OK, I know- this sounds a little crazy. Tonight, the corner light went off when I took Keely across to the park. It came back on, while she was peeing. Then, as we stepped off of the curb, to recross the street, it went off again. In former times, when I was truly nuts, I thought maybe my inherent darkness was somehow sucking the energy out of the surrounding area. Yes, I was just that crazy. Now, I got no idea, but it still happens with alarming frequency. Anybody else ever notice such a thing?
