OK so I had real serious conversation with a lady today, who asked me the question I have heard before. I looked at her without breaking a smile and answered. The question was: How do you know when you are ready to have a baby? Now she is not prego so it was not like she was talking today, she was talking about going out and getting prego in the future. So I looked at her and I said, (are you ready for this?). When you leave here on your way home stop by the animal shelter and see if they have any puppies. Not any type of puppy will do - you need something along the lines of a Lab. (I love my black lab). Take this young puppy home and take care of it, feed it, take it out for walks even if it is raining or snowing, love it and it will love you back. When you feel comfortable with the puppy and it does not make you mad when it does something that you do not like, and you do not rant and scream, then and only then will you know when you are ready to become a mother to a child. This is not going to be a over night love affair I promise, the puppy is cute until you go to bed, then it will become a crying child missing you and you will either have to get out of bed to comfort it or find a way to comfort it, (I gave no hint here on how you can do that. I have a feeling I will be getting a visit tomorrow asking me how do you shut them up when you want to sleep.) When you leave it alone, it will eat everything, and I mean everything including the drywall on the walls before it turns 2. But, once you get past 2 - it is smooth sailing. She and her husband may never have kids - but they will end up with a best friend that will be waiting for them each day with nothing but love and happiness. Have a great night, Paul
