OK, so my brother gave me 6. Im not sure how much of this will actually be news to you guys as Im a pretty open book, but lets give it a shot anyway. 1. I am named after my paternal grandfather. (Including my middle name) I never knew him, partly because he was born in 1882. He was 54 when my Dad was born. 2. I had breathing issues as a child that disappeared as soon as I went to college. Although my parents wanted to pin it on a cat allergy, Im fairly certain it was because before college, I was living with my mother who was a heavy smoker. 3. I have a mild fear of crowded rooms and elevators. It usually doesnt bother me unless there are people literally all around me. Then I go rigid and feel like I can barely breathe. 4. I learned the basics of computer programming when I was about 9. The computer I was using at the time was known as a mini-computer meaning it was about a five foot tall metal cabinet fed with paper punch tape and using a teletype machine for output. I refer to it nostalgically as the treekiller. 5. As a child, I struggled with reading. Specifically I had a problem with retaining what Id read. I suspect it was some form of dyslexia. I did, however, have almost perfect recall for everything I heard (such as comedy records, movie dialogue and such, inflections, etc.) which led me to theater where I learned to bridge the gap between retaining what I heard and what I read. 6. In High School and part of College, I went through a somewhat bizarre religious phase. (I say weird because neither of my parents were remotely religious during my lifetime.) I outgrew it after realizing that what I knew to be true and what I was trying to accept as true were in direct conflict with one another. Reality won and Ive been an atheist ever since. (Although for a long time, I called myself an agnostic because it seemed to me that too many people equated atheism with serial killer for quite a long time.)
