OK, time to be a wee bit controversial! lol....been a while! So Jasper the dog has been found!! Yay! As a dog lover I am honestly, genuinely delighted! However, I am a wee bit annoyed at the fact his owner is being lauded as some sort of hero!! I have been up Scafell, and have walked/climbed miles over the years with and without dogs! The area where the dog went missing is NOT dog friendly, more of a scramble route! Jagged rocks with cracks just big enough to trap a paw! But what annoys me most is that it seems the dog was out of sight for ages before the owner realised!! Totally irresponsible! If the conditions/terrain/weather etc were so bad, the dog should have at least been on an extendable lead! Then....hundreds of people wouldnt have had to risk life and limb to find the animal in dangerous conditions. Some people are suggesting this bloke deserves a medal....I think a slap would be more suitable!!
