OPEN LETTER TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY! This is an article that was written this month and we all hoped this would go away, it is so outrageous that one should be left speechless. I cannot believe that a human being who spends any time in Multnomah County would even consider this inhumane action. Please read this as I will be talking about this issue tomorrow and I am giving you a heads up; something I never do. The reason for this way of dealing with this issue is because I just learned about it and was asked to do something about it. I will try but only you can stop the Sheriff from denying his prisoners the simple right to see and feel the presence of their loved one, family, friend or children. What have we become? My hope you do not know about this because the sheriff is an independently elected official running his own little fiefdom, but you control his budget. I am asking you to become involved and stop this now. We will fight this as hard as we can but you hold the purse strings and I know Who controls the money controls the decisions.
