ORIGINAL, UNIQUE, and very interesting piece of music by contemporary classical composer Anna Meredith. Reminds me of Steve Reichs Clapping Music without using the compositional technique known as Phasing. The syncopated rhythm in the beginning section and the middle choral section reminded me of the primitive sounding nature of Stravinskys The Rite of Spring. It also has a section which sounded like beatboxing which doesnt surprise me considering that the composer has written a Concerto for Beatboxer and orchestra. Brilliantly written, well choreographed and entertaining!!! Breaking down the hierarchy of the orchestra, making everyone in the orchestra equally important.
