OUR HONORABLE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE JOIN MUSLIM WORSHIPERS FOR EID PRAYER TO END THE HOLY MONTH OF RAMADAN IN KABALA, KOINADUGU DISTRICT, LAST WEEKEND AND ALSO FOR PRAYER FOR THE CURRENT EPIDEMIC RAVAGING OUR BELOVED COUNTRY . Receiving the Hon. Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Chief Alhaji Sidique Samuel Sam-Sumana in Koinadugu District was a large turn-out of Religious Leaders, Paramount Chiefs, Traditional Heads, Stakeholders, last Saturday 26 July, 2014 in Fadugu Koinadugu District. The purpose was to join fellow Muslim worshipers to end the holy month of Ramadan in the township of Kabala and to make prayers for the current epidemic in our country. Vice President Visit to the district was to show his interest in Islam and tolerance of religion in our beloved country, Sierra Leone and its significance. The Vice President thought it fit that although President Koroma is a Christian who loves and encourages Muslim worshipers to practice their religion fully, yet he was able to attend the Christian function that day. He as a Muslim vice president thought it necessary to join Muslims in other parts of the country for prayer. Therefore, he decided to join the end of Ramadan Month prayer in Kabala town, this time around. They both attend Muslim and Christian functions, and they have no problem with that, the President attends Christian crusades and the Vice President attends Muslim functions which is very good to the eye seen of men. The Vice President said he was happy to be with the people on that particular day- to decide on resources for development of the District and Sierra Leone by extension. In the same address, Vice President Sam-Sumana told the people that they have to look for an answer collectively to the present issues that is affecting the country which is the EBOLA outbreak in the country and they lament prayer on that during the event and his stay. He also asked for a new direction that they should have respect for elders and those in authority. The Vice President said that the Koinadugu people have to find a way to forgive each other because there is no guarantee that the political opportunity they now have will come back if they do not handle it with care and wisdom. For this reason, the Vice President asked all the Koinadugu people to bury their differences and forgive each other for the sake of the District. Vice President Sam-Sumana said he was very happy to be with the Koinadugu People this year to end the Ramadan. As regarding development in Koinadugu District, the Vice President said he appreciated the people for the awareness they do have for the Ebola outbreak in the country. He further advised them on how they should help disseminate the present outbreak in the country. Also advised them to be very careful with what they do among each other as to avoid the transmition of the viruses. He also pointed out that they should work as a team because no single person can develop Koinadugu District. Sierra Leoneans always give support to each other in difficult times in a very interfaith religious manner, and there is a great religious tolerancy in Sierra Leone unlike any other country, and they intermarry without any religious consideration, without no issue. The Vice President was happy to be in Koinadugu because, he was wishing for that for awhile ago. Alhaji Sam-Sumana commended the Paramount chiefs saying they are instrumental in the District as traditional fathers, earlier in his remarks at Fadigu nKasogo Chiefdon where he made his first stop before entering the township of Kabala, Vice President Sam Sumana was extremely happy to be in Koinadugu District to see for himself the religious tolerance that he heard and read so much about. During his short stay in Kasogo Chiefdon the last village to Kabala town. He was amazed at the tolerance, respect, peaceful, and passion people have for the religion of Islam, so to satisfy them, he decided to ended the eve of the 7 o clock fasting with them which they see as blessing in the Chiefdon - reason because it has never happened before which was said to him by the people. The Vice President was on a three days visit to Koinadugu District where he marks another day at Sikuniya Chief Dome with his Muslim brothers and sisters. God bless the people of Koinadugu and the many prayer they did for the country.
