OUR LORDs PASSION Did Jesus And Mary Enjoy A Last Reunion Be_fore The Beginning Of His Passion?Perhaps They Met At Bethany,at The Home Of Lazarus And His Sisters.Or Perhaps The Cenacle,the Room Of The Last Supper,was The Scene Of This Farewell.Wherever Mary Was,because Of Her Intense Love And Understanding,she Shared The Agony Of The Son As Much As Any Mortal Could.With Him She Wept And Prayed In Gethsemani,suf-fered At The Pillories Of Herod And Pilate,and Bore The Vilest Insults Of The Crowd.Finally,as He Began The Way Of The Cross,she Came To Join The Throng That Was Following Him To Gol_gotha.When They Came Face To Face,says The Apocryphal Acts Of Pilate,mary Swooned Out Of Compassion;this Is The Subject Of The Fourth Station Of The Cross.On The Reputed Site Of The Meeting The Crusaders Built The Church Of St.Mary Of The Swoon.
