OVER A CUP OF BREWED ITALIAN COFFEE ( having it right now) THE ART OF GRIMACING: Making diffrrent facial expressions Social psychologists say that facial expressions of emotion such as smile and grimaces are INNATE. Which means to say that expressions of emotion are hardwired into our genes. Prof.David Matsumoto claims that, This suggests something genetically resident within us... Prof. Jeff Mogil discloses, The function of grimace is to escape from danger and DEMAND ATTENTION ( both from self and others). Thus we grimace partly a CONCIOUS COMMUNICATION STRATEGY to send someone a message, I am here, look at me. Have we ever wondered why we smile when we are happy and shed tears when we are laddened with sorrow? Various facial expressions of emotion are classified into two: one is FAKED and the other is GENUINE. The pictures of myself i posted are faked, forced or intentionally done facial expressions to show how a person can project expressions that are not innate but a by product of LOCOlogy( loco is an italian term my employer uses when i grimace my face to make her happy.meaning: clowning). Funny as it may seem, but many truths can be gleaned out from this, on why we fake people with our facial expressions. Some even go to the extent of showing all their teeth when taking a picture to let others know how happy they are and having no problem at all . But have you seen someone smiling and laughing at the roof top of a house at the height of the storm( only in the Philippines)? Genuine or non- genuine facial expressions are part of human strategy to survive from different pains life would offer. In a world where everyone possesed different degrees of psychological disturbances or neurosis it does not really matter if we fake or not ourselves in different given situations. Just do it the way you like it- for your own survival. HAPPY IS THE MAN THAT FINDETH WISDOM, AND THE MAN THAT GETTETH UNDERSTANDING. King Solomon.
