October 20, 2014 Excerpt Freshness Of The Spiritual Fruit Keeps Us From Spoiling The Divinity of the soul is the source of the freshness of our inner life. Can you imagine having a very special wedding cake set aside for that special day, but when you go to pick it up on the day of the wedding its dry, spoiled, and otherwise unedible? That would be very disappointing. Also, imagine having someone very special to you set aside in such a way that you are never able to visit, communicate, or otherwise have access to them. As time goes on, that very special person becomes spoiled with unfruitful attitudes and when you do finally see the person the experience is very distasteful and undesirable. Likewise, when the divinity of the soul is set aside we become spoiled within our inner life. Thats because the divinity of the soul is essential to keep our soul fresh. Therefore, setting aside divine goodness makes us stale inwardly which is apparent from being barren of spiritual fruitfulness. That stale and barren soul becomes spoiled with inner conflict to cause a chaotic or unsettling environment. As the bacteria continues to rot away the goodness that lives in us we begin to disrespect the life of others and have no regard to the sanctity of living. In essence, the light of our divine worth begins to be eaten away by the deteriorating rot which induces disrespect of self and others resulting in destructive inclinations. The positive energy of a fresh and nutrient full inner life becomes infested with the negative energy of spoiled attitudes. In contrast, a fresh and nutrient rich inner life comes by reverence for the divine goodness of our soul. In that freshness our inward being is full of spiritual fruitfulness with vibrant nutrients of tranquility. In that fresh serenity is respect for the qualities that bring life as we desire life and goodwill for others. We do not set aside the divine presence but desire for everyone to see the light of the divinity of the soul.
