The air search has been suspended for missing AirAsia flight 8501. It will resume Monday morning. On board are 162 people, including 16 children and a baby. Most of the passengers are from Indonesia but there are also 3 from South Koreans, 1 person from the United Kingdom, another from Singapore, and 1 passenger from Malaysia. The plane was headed from Indonesia to Singapore - just about a two hour flight. The pilot had asked for a route deviation due to weather before communication was lost. The plane is operated by an airline whose parent company is based in Malaysia. It is the third incident involving Malaysia this year following two of the worst aviation tragedies that hit Malaysia Airlines - in March Flight 370 disappeared with 239 people and in July Flight 17 was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on it. We will keep you updated on the latest developments on this latest mystery.
