October is finally here, which means my 31 Days of HORROR movie review!!! We’re gonna start cute and eventually get to terrifying by the end of the month. But for Day 1 of 31, I chose “The Halloween That Almost Wasn’t – The Night Dracula Saved the World” (1979). It was a TV special that used to run on the Disney Channel throughout the 80’s!!! It was a staple in our house! It stars Judd Hirsch (“Taxi”), Henry Gibson (“The Burbs”), and Mariette Hartley. Dracula gathers all of the famous monsters, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, a Zombie, and Igor to convince the Witch not to quit otherwise Halloween will be canceled. This TV is a lot of fun, and having watched the whole thing (link below) – it holds up so well over time!!!!
