Odd....to me....today I came across Davids T-shirt laying unwashed in the wash room. I couldnt help but pick it up. Then I couldnt resist taking it in my hands. In a moment I find myself breathing in a familiar scent. A scent I knew well. It was that jus out of the shower, deodorant, cologne, clean scent, u ladies know what I mean right?? A scent Ive become real familiar with after having been near it, hugging it, carrying it to the washer now for 34 years. Yeah thats it. The good scent we come to know as only our husbands after many years! And then I think....this is my good friend, my husband, the father of our children, the grandfather of our grand babies, a Son, a Brother, and yes UR good friend whenever any of our friends or family needs him. Then I hold back that precious T-shirt and my mind drifts back to an event Saturday night. And suddenly I realize I could be holding this shirt with a bullet hole in it or may by a stab wound, and may by it stained all over with his precious blood. Then I take a min to THANK our God for letting us all keep and enjoy him jus a Lil longer. This man has devoted 38 years of his life getting up and protecting us and the Citizens of the City of Lufkin, Texas, jus as the many other officers in our area. A JP put a value of $3500 BOND on this mans life!!! Will it be this amount or less for the next Officer, and u can believe in these times, there WILL BE A NEXT TIME, but will UR T-shirt u find be as undamaged and unblemished as mine?? Lufkin City Mayor, Lufkin City Manager, County DA office, Lufkin City Counsel, and mostly PEOPLE OF LUFKIN AND ANGELINA COUNTY PLEASE, PLEASE STEP UP AND PROVE AND SHOW THAT THESE GREAT OFFICERS MEAN SO MUCH AND ARE WORTH SO MUCH, MUCH MORE TO YOU ALL THAN THIS!!! NO DEALS, NO PLEA BARGAINS, NO PROBATION FOR THOSE WHO SHOW SO LITTLE RESPECT FOR OUR OFFICERS AND FOR A LIFE. UR A CHRISTIAN, PROVE IT. SAVE CHILDRENS FATHERS, MOTHERS SONS, WIVES HUSBANDS, PROVE U CARE. WE HAVE SEEN HOW MUCH A JP IN THIS COUNTY CARES.....DO U CARE AS LITTLE OR EVEN LESS? PLEASE SHOW AND PROVE TO THESE OFFICERS THAT THEY ARE MORE THAN A PEICE OF MEAT FOR THE TAKING. DO U ALL REALIZE HOW MUCH THEY REALLY DO FOR U 365 DAYS A YEAR, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 24 HOURS A DAY?? HELP THEM, HELP OUR COUNTY, HELP OUR PEOPLE. ASSAULT ON A PEACE OFFICER.....ONE U HAVE KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND THEN U POUNCE ON TOP OF HIM TO WHAT??....FINISH HIM OFF. NO NOT ASSAULT....ATTEMPTED MURDER IN MY MINDS EYE. WHERE WOULD MY HUSBAND BE RIGHT NOW WERE IT NOT FOR A BYSTANDER KNOCKING HIM FROM ATOP MY HUSBANDS LIFELESS BODY ON THE GROUND. NO NOT ASSAULT AND NO JP NOT A $3500 BOND. PEOPLE U BETTER WAKE UP BECAUSE IF ANOTHER OFFICER IS INJURED OR KILLED HERE, THERE IS NO ONE TO FIND FAULT WITH BUT WITH URSELVES........!! THEN LIVE WITH THAT!!!!
