Oded Revivi owes an apology to Gush Etzion Shavua - TopicsExpress

Oded Revivi owes an apology to Gush Etzion Shavua tov, During the entire morning yesterday I was checking the Efrat-chat email list and the news on Arutz 7, Ynet etc… waiting to read Efrat’s official reaction to the terror attack at “Tzomet T”, a 4 minute drive from Efrat. I expected the moetsa to urge Efrat residents to come to the vigil at the site of the pigua, and organize a bus to bring them there. Strangely, that email was never sent. Once I arrived at the vigil, I assumed our mayor Oded Revivi would be there and speak in the name of Efrat, promoting arvut hadadit with our brothers in Gush Etzion, denouncing the terror, declaring that Efrat and Gush Etzion will stand firm together, demanding security on our road etc… for let’s remember …the pigua happened a 4-minute drive from Efrats’ main southern entrance…100 meter to the right after the turn on Tsomet T! But no. Besides a few Efrat residents and one member of the local council that indeed came to the vigil but did not speak out, Efrat’s voice wasn’t heard… All this was so strange…till, a few minutes before Shabbat someone emailed me the text of what Oded had sent on facebook early in the morning in reaction to the pigua, and themystery of Efrat’s silence was solved. Here is the text, untouched – one must take a deep breath before reading it. It’s shocking : Dear Efrat residents, it was reported in the media this morning that a fire bomb was thrown near the settlement of Efrat. This is not the first time that the media reports innacurate information in order to serve a specific purpose. The fire bomb was thrown south of the T-Junction on the way to Meitzad. The driver and the passenger in the car were lightly injured. After speaking with Aluf Hapikud he told me that the perpertrator had already been apprehended and had definately not thrown the fire bomb for nationalistic reasons. I gave thanks to the Aluf for acting promptly and for continuing to keep the residents of Gush Etzion safe Shabbat Shalom to all (in Hebrew the text read “the residents of Judea and Samaria safe”) So here we have it: 1)The fire bomb was thrown south of the T-Junction on the way to Meitzad. i.e. Dear all - be assured that the attack was not so close to Efrat. First of all that is not true. The pigua was closer to Efrat than to Meitzad , or at least exactly the same distance, but we guess that in order to make sure real estate prices in Efrat do not chalila drop, Oded preferred to say it was close to Meitzad, by “ them” far far away , somewhere close to China…not chalila by “us”, in the holy Efrat, where there is no terror and everything is fine and calm. 2) The “perpetrator” had definitely not thrown the fire bomb for nationalistic reasons… Oh well. He must have been training for the bottle-throwing olympics…. Come on…Throwing a firebomb at a Jewish couple and almost burning them to death, is by definition an act of terror no matter what additional motives the “perpetrator” may have had! 3) “The passengers were lightly injured”. And therefore why make a fuss… especially that the “perpetrator” (chalila not to use the word Arab terrorist) was already caught… I think that we don’t have to continue and analyze the reaction. It is so painful. It is such a stab in the back of our brothers and sisters in Gush Etzion and therefor so important that we express our protest. In my humble opinion it is clear that Oded owes an apology to Gush Etzion and to us Efrat residents for representing us in such a shameful way. At a time when clearly Arab terror is raising its head , the last thing we need, is to fall in the “divide and conquer” trap. We need to show a united front, all of us in Judea- Efrat-Gush Etzion –Kiryat Arba Hevron-Southern Hevron. Tomorrow Sunday at 2:00 pm we all join the vigil at the T-junction, a 4 minute drive from Efrat Chazak Chazak VeNitchazek, Nadia Matar
