Of all the movies i hav seen so far, TITANIC is the most memorable one.(bit lengthy to read..but climax is worth) It was during my MBBS days in KMC mangalore..i was told that Titanic shud never be missed..and missing titanic was probably next to crime that time. Craze for titanic was such. So, i went to Newchitra theatre, which was the only theatre in mangalore screening english movies those days. Stood in que till my hamstrings craved for attention when a guy in rugged T-shirt offerd me ticket for 100bucks(balcony was 30rs those days). Sat in theatre, jam packed to full capacity, every body waiting to witness the spectacular event.. Me too.. Movie started ceremoniusly..every body engrossd in seeing titanic sinking with their jaws dropped..me too.. I thought..waav..full paisa vasool.. Finally the last scene came.. Leonardo was frozen to death..and Kete desperately callng him crying and crying and crying..jack.e back! Jack.e back.. every body in theatre started crying as if it is a mass event in church..all had their hankies wet..me too.. But i was cryng not bcoz Jack was frozen to death..but for diffrnt reason. I had suddenly realised dat my vallet was pick pocketed!! Alas! I had lost 300rs(which was like a manna frm heaven 4 me those days wen single paisa was imp 4 me) along with my city bus concession pass. Totally movie costed me 400rs..most expensive movie in my life.. I continued to cry and got out of theatre without single paisa in pocket. Walked like a refugee from a camp and reached college canteen.. Borrowd 20rs frm canteen owner Janardan..who also shed some tears 4 me. My pocket money 4 month had vanishd like titanic..reachd home with tears dried out. Really memorable..indeed. Just happend to recollect dis yesterday while chattng wit a friend. More memories to follow..stay tuned.
