Europe is far our biggest trading partner, taking half of all our exported goods and services. According to a report released in March by the Centre for Economic and Business Research, an independent think tank, that trade is worth £211bn a year, or £3,500 per person. It also directly supports some 3.1m British jobs. If we left the EU we could still trade but with the big tariffs as a non member wed no longer be competitive. The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) works to make sure the UK has secure, clean, affordable energy supplies and promote international action to mitigate climate change. UKIP would scrap it. The Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) is here to help make Britain the world’s most creative and exciting place to live, visit and do business. UKIP would scrap it. UKIP will withdraw from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
