Oh no! We ourselves are on trial for the way we are policing scammer spammers. Banal is the evil that we do. As you know, we take great pride in our spam filters and our deleting and banning of spammer scammer policy. Today we were spammed just like any other day, and our response was the same as any other spamming incident: The spam was caught in the filter, I unhid the spam so that it could be deleted and its author banned, which I duly did. Then afterwards I realised I had done it on auto-pilot. Sure, it was a spam message, but after I had deleted it and banned the author, I could not be sure. Did this good policeman just start on the slipperly slope to becoming bad? Could I miss an innocent non-spam message in the haze of my zeal? I sure can relate to Fergie PD right now.
