Ok - so I have seen many posts over the past few weeks about new math and this one can now be credited with the straw that broke the camels back.... The fact that an Opposition leader takes the opportunity to politicize a topic that is misinformed and fear mongering frustrates me incredibly. This curriculum is far from new.....Inspiring Education is not new...and the ridiculous attempts by media and opposition leaders to rally around a topic that raises misdirected questions about our Education system is definitely not new... I find this disrespectful to the professionals that educate our students and undermining of a government trying to transform a system for the better. Does everyone need to agree? Not at all.....Should people blindly follow? Absolutely not.....Do parents have the right to question and understand what and how their children are learning? Yes!!!! My hope is that parents who are concerned, confused or wanting to know more use their local resources; teachers, schools, school councils, school divisions etc to gain clear information and provide real feedback. Ok....rant over....thoughts??
