Also born were Debra Messing, and Ben Affleck. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassinated in 1975 in a military coup. And coincidently Khaleda Zia, politician and wife/widow of military general was born on the same date in 1945. Its celebrated as a holy day by Catholics in several countries: Feast day of Assumption of Mary 1960: Republic of Congo gained independence from France 1914: Panama Canal opens to traffic 1945: US celebrates it as victory over Japan Day Death: 1953: Ludwig Prandtl, a German scientist in the field fluid mechanics, Aerodynamics, after whom the Prandtl number is named. His studies identified the boundary layer, thin-airfoils, and lifting-line theories.
