Ok, I realize its not Throwback Thursday yet, but at the moment its Memory Monday... Ive been reminiscing whilst going through my stacks of Forever Friends, a magazine invented when I was in 6th grade, a creative/literary/collaborative project along with Stella Dubish, Michelle Marie Comes and Kristina Zimmerman. I just dug up the very first issue, published June 1995, and as a farewell to June, wanted to share my poem June which appeared in this issue. Let me know if youd like to know more about this project...I sense a comeback! :-D JUNE (by Monique Canniere) The weeks of June are like dresses laid out, As we walk and run and skip about. No one notices when June 31st arrives, The end of the month which has renewed our lives. The poppies nod in their drowsiness, Though their royal scent is never any less. Wild roses shine in their lovely splendor, The color of their face is sweet forevermore. Oh! How we all love the month of June, The sweet smell of grass, the bright golden moon, But June seems always short, and soon it will be gone, So savor this lovely month. Love and adore June!
