Ok, Im probably gonna get shot for this but I havent been sassy in a while and I have an itch! So theres a video of some singer lady singing about how youre beautiful just the way you are and she starts taking off her makeup and weave to prove you dont need those things to be beautiful. Ok, dont get me wrong, I love the message. Anyone that knows me knows Im all about girls finding worth in themselves and not conforming to societal standards of beauty. That being said, I dont think this singer chick fully committed to her own message. Watch the video again (its all over Facebook). While she does take off her fake lashes and whatever the heck you call that rug stapled to her neck and they do that magical wipe to show you they turned off Photoshop, she still looks pretty great. Shes obviously still wearing makeup (she even puts some back on), she has fantastic skin, really nice hair and the lighting is still on point. Like, shes still at a level to make a lot of people still feel insecure. She went from a 10 to a 7 but you know she wasnt about to show us a 3. She wasnt about to give us her just got done mowing the lawn look. I mean, is it just me or do you think that some young girl thats really struggling with her appearance is going to watch a video of a beautiful woman take off all her make up and still be a beautiful woman and not feel worse about herself? Maybe Im an idiot, but I just feel like if I drive a beat up Volkswagen bus and you drive a Ferrari, simply wiping the wax off your Ferrari and having the camera zoom in on the dent over the back bumper all while singing a song about how it doesnt matter what we drive doesnt change the fact that you still have a Ferrarri.
