Ok, Im really excited about this group. Lets talk about the possibility of Indian ( for lack of a better term) burial and ceremonial mounds in the Carroll Gardens area the first thing that jumps out at me is Cobble Hill. It was an actual hill at court st n Atlantic. It has steep sides like an Indian burial mound Also Bergen Hill located at present day 2 Nd st n Smith was less steep and could have been a ceremonial mound. We know from William Wallace Tooker that this area of Brooklyn was populated and farmer extensively for many generations. Why not have mounds? I think the mounds were not recognized at the time of their distruction because of the prevailing anti Indian sentiment of the time. I realize that Im jumping right into this. Hoping that some questions and answers will fill out details
