Ok, Ive had enough. Ive seen others posting negativity about the challenge as well as celebrities. Ive had a relative who knows first hand about caring for and losing a loved one to a degenerative disease be called awful names for refusing to do the challenge. The whole thing was done in the spirit of FUN to raise awareness and funds. Im sure even the ALS foundation would agree that yes, they would your monetary donation but if you cant, fine. Donate your time, donate either to another charity of your choice that hits closer to your own life and experience, or even if you see someone in a wheelchair, possible suffering from ALS, just hold open a damn door for them and youve done your part! For crying out loud! This guy talks about the 18% for fundraising, 8% for research, 10% for salaries-what about the other 60-some percent? Ill tell you what it goes towards-helping individual families suffering from this disease. The family who cant afford the wheelchair, or need help with costs for the home health aide, or cant afford the medications needed, as well as their other income needs. People need to lighten up.
