Ok no names mentioned here. I am working and paying bills. Someone else is not working. He gets given money and later I find a house where we only need 10k deposit. I think it is a good deal so I suggest that is how we use the money. So he agrees. I buy the house, ie I organise the mortgage, I organise, the painting, decorating, and I carpet it throughout. I dig the garden and put stuff in to stop the weeds coming up. put nice rose bushes in the front garden and potted plants in the back and we let it immediately. We get a good profit out of it which HE HAD for four years, to pay his share of the bills. Over the 8 years we have had it, our profit must have easily covered the original deposit twice over. Each time we needed a tenant, I went down, cleaned the house, repainted or paid someone else to do it. I paid for adverts to relet it. and basically ran the house. It is getting difficult to rent out now as the new laws with benefits dont allow certain families to have three bedrooms. So we have decided to sell it, after I just spent four whole days clearing out broken furniture, stripped off wallpaper, stinky fridges and freezers and washing machine left by last tenant. Had to pay someone to help me. ANd now, the person I bought the house with is saying I am ripping him off and that the house is his. He says I am ripping him off of part of his inheritance. So what do you think? Is it his house or should we share it? It was his 10k deposit, my work which got the mortgage and my work that has made it more valuable, ie organising new fitted kitchen and oak flooring. It was my work getting the tenants sorted out. I think I have done 10k worth of work over the last 8 years. What do you think? I do not like being called a ripp off merchant. I am just wondering what others think. If I am out of order then perhaps I ought to rethink.
