Ok one bonus fun fact because this is neat: These pretty insects seen frequently around the Preserve are called Ebony Jewelwings, and are a type of damselfly. Theyre relatives of dragonflies, but weaker flyers. While identifying photos for use around the Preserve, I learned you can tell males and females apart - females have a white spot on their wings and darker, almost black bodies, while males have bright blue or green bodies and no spot!
