Ok, rant here, inspired by an article posted by Andrea. When you provide a good or service via a company, you are acting as that company, not as an individual. Companies are legal entities and do not have religious beliefs. Therefore, when your company is forced to comply with a non-discrimination ordinance, your religious beliefs are not being infringed upon. If you send a gay couple to your Aunt Cindy for their cake and she refuses because theyre gay, thats her prerogative. However, if you send them to her company, Delicious Cakes by Aunt Cindy, and she refuses, thats a completely different issue. The same goes for being a baker, a photographer, or any other provider. Now, if your Aunt Cindy makes traditional style wedding cakes and that gay couple wants something that is edgy, pushes boundaries, and generally doesnt fit in with what she does, she can turn them down perfectly legally (as far as I know). A creator gets to have say in who they create for, even as a company. But, it is critical to separate Aunt Cindy the individual from Aunt Cindy the company. /rant
