Ok, so here is the scoop. Tomorrow afternoon Ill be heading North, into the high country for a week. Saturday is opening day and I have an elk, deer, and bear tag. Sat-Sun Ill be at base camp, a secret location north of the city. Come Monday afternoon Ill depart from base camp and head south to a series of cliffs and narrow passage ways, in an attempt to cut them off at the pass. Ill camp out on a ledge in order to avoid the grizzlies and wolves, however the mountain lions may still be an issue. From there Ill circle through the gulch in search of fresh sign. If nothing Ill head back north about 12-15 miles towards the corner of nowhere, past the bogs and fields into rugged country. Forecast is dropping quickly. lows in the 20s and highs in the 40s and snow. At some point I may have to head to the truck and drive it down into the valley so It wont get stuck on the ridge.
