Ok so heres my story so far: three days ago I crashed on a motorbike while touring around Phuket. The breaks locked up and the bike rolled on top of me. I slid for about thirty feet and thankfully some people were around to see me eat it and pulled the bike off of me. I was rushed to a Thai hospital where they took X-rays and informed me I had shattered my ankle and I would need surgery, all of this being told to me through partial English. I had to spend the night alone in a place where I couldnt communicate with anyone with some of the worse pain of my life. I wasnt sure I would make it out of surgery. They didnt understand that I was diabetic so I was convinced I would go to sleep and not wake up. Fortunately, I woke up and was able to contact my parents. My dad, my hero, flew to the opposite side of the world to come to my aide. Tomorrow We will begin the long trip home. Ive had to cancel the rest of my plans in Thailand. I am at a loss for words about how devastated that I am for missing out on the rest of my trip but thankful for the kindness of strangers and my family. Im ready to put this nightmare behind me and have never wanted to be home more in my life!
