Ok..... this trip turned into a total FUBA...lets just say that I understand how the Griswalds felt. First, we travel 10 hours with a kids that threw up every 15 mins. Then we finally arrive at the Thai-Laos border. They would not let me pass because the ECP was closed for Americans. Then they tell me that my sons passport is not valid because it had less that 3 months on the validity. To top it off, we had to stay at a "shag house" for one night and was attacked by sugar ants. Next we get up at 0 dark thirty to head to the border where I was detained for an overstay which cost me 500 thb. The worst thing abt it is that I had to leave my son with his grandmother in Mukdaharn and she calls to tell us he has a fever. We arrived at the Thai Embassy and turned in my passport. We finally made it to the hotel and are now going to try to eat. The only thing missing from today is the giant asteroid that could land on my head at any minute.
