Thought I had established a possible family connection between Larrys family and my friend Barbara. Decided to investigate further, and sorry to say this is what I found: OAKLEY - Harold Wayne Casey Oakley, 65, formerly of Hanson, KY died Fri April 5, 2002. Born in Hopkins County, KY on January 20, 1937. He was retired from the CSX Railroad Company out of Jacksonville and was also a former Kentucky State Trooper. He was a member of the Deer Meadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and held the record for the most points ever scored in a high school basketball game to this date in the state of KY at Hanson High School, Hanson, KY where he was a graduate and he was a graduate of KY Wesleyan College, Owensboro, KY. Survivors include his wife the former Judy Osborn, Jacksonville, FL; four sons, Greg (Penny) Oakley, Louisville, KY, Chad (Aimee) Oakley, Jacksonville, FL, Brad and Doug Oakley both of Henderson, KY; his mother, Virginia Edwards Oakley, Hanson, KY; one brother, Luther Oakley, Jr., Henderson, KY; one sister, Mary Florence Lindsey, Newburgh, Indiana and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Luther Oakley, Sr. Funeral services were held April 10, 2002 at Tomkpins Funeral Homes: SlaughtersHanson Chapel with Rev. Les Chapman officiating. Burial is at Onton Cemetery, Onton, KY.
