Okay everyone, Im going to type this out on my phone (really wishing Id brought my Mac) so excuse any errors. The update with mom: Yesterday we seen moms primary physician at the mayo clinic. He was very nice and spent a total of around 8 hours with her! Asking questions, going over medical history and even ran some tests. He seemed very optimistic and eager to take her. He wants to put mom on a three year long study, where she would be back on the jakifi (I think I spelled that right? Anyway its a medication) and also hormones. Mom was ecstatic about that bc the doctors at Loma Linda told her she had about a year and a half left to live. Also, he told mom that once we get her strength back (change of diet and exercise) we would begin the process of doing the bone marrow transplant. All good news yesterday and mom was in high spirits! Well be here for the rest of the week talking to different specialists (kidney, bone marrow, hemotologist) and then by the end of the week, once weve seen them all, we will have a more concrete idea of whats going on and hopefully a game plan. Today she seen the kidney specialist, and it wasnt as great of a visit as yesterday. Turns out her kidneys are much worse than wed been told they were. Sadly, Loma Linda let us down majorly. Were still staying positive though! Tomorrow is the bone marrow specialist! Ill keep you all posted! ❤️ mom is doing great and staying strong.
