Old Headlights Restoration in Malaysia Most of Malaysian are owned personal vehicle due to there is no proper establish of public transportation system. Car price in Malaysia are relatively expensive when compare with their income ,so most of people have to use own car for a long journey and purchase of 2nd hand car is quite common here in Malaysia too. In Malaysia JPJ regularly inspect only at public transportation vehicle such as bus and truck. For private vehicle ,Government not really enforce them for undergo periodical & yearly inspection. Here are some of the problem with headlight in Malaysia. Thousand of car on the road without proper optical clarity on headlight due to many reason. Since Malaysia located at tropical area and always with direct & strong ultra violet light comes from sun. Usually 2nd hand car has more problem than the others and normally ,Used car dealers simply polished the head lamp to make it like new while the car still can go for a few years. Manufacturers usually use thin hard coat silicone as a protective coating. This coating is damaged over several years when exposed to lots of sunlight. Thereafter , we have to find a coating that has similar properties to replace the original coating. Normally People should try to maintain the original UV coating as long as they can, since there is no better protection than the original UV coating. People can try to use deoxidizer and skip the sanding process since original UV coating are still present. Once do sanding & polishing ,the headlight tend to have very heavy yellowing in a few months .Anyway for the moment polish & waxing is the only available method to restore headlight in Malaysia. In fact polishing headlight until shinning is a very hard process and time consuming job with many grinding air tools too. People are tend to use a very strong acid contain deoxidizer to make their restore job much more easy but, result of apply heavy acid chemical to the headlight is more worst as the headlight will have yellowish back with micro cracks in few months time. Micro cracks on the lamp surface are fatal and those lamp should be replace with new one but, a new headlamp cost are also very high in Malaysia if you have imported cars. Therefore since the cost is high ,we Just ignore the importance of the headlamp clarity problem when we driving on midnight. Over the last decade, automobile manufacturers have focused on vehicle lighting improvements as a way to improve vehicle safety, as more than 60% of all traffic accidents took place during night time and motorcycle accident during rainy midnight is a nightmare around corner of dim street lamp in Malaysia.
