Old memories dont die hard ... they wait in the wings, over time. - TopicsExpress

Old memories dont die hard ... they wait in the wings, over time. to reappear. Triggered by a visual reconnection, youre reminded of some of the many things that youve done. And may again do. I met Master of Event Planning Mr. Tim ONeill today in Asbury Park for an afternoon meeting with Kyle and Caroline, Managers of the Stone Pony. Kyle was there back when Jack and Butch had the place. Over our 4.5 year tenure playing the northeast, we must have played the The Stone Pony over 50 times. That back stage door, still exactly where it was all those years ago, set in white brick ... sent me back instantly. I havent been inside of The Pony since 1986. Havent played there since 1982. I went in, walked the floor, surveyed the room and its layout. Still very close to as it was 32 years ago. Only better. The ceiling is higher, giving the sound of the room more life. Capacity is larger and visual access to the stage is exceptional. The stage ... once an occasional 3 hour home to me and my mates, larger now. I climbed up and took my place, stage left. Again, memories. And possible future plans. I had to immediately convey my experience to Neil Thomas. Being in California, he needed to know how great it was that the the Stone Pony was as alive now as it was when it offered us a place to roar. Maybe month 11 of this year. Sorry for the rant. It was an emotional afternoon. Thanks again Tim, for the connection helping with the possibilities. And the photos.
