Olympic medalist, Nigel Amos has lost track and needs help to refocus on his athletics career He has completely changed. He needs to be assisted because he has lost focus in athletics, Mogomotsi Otsetswe told Mmegi Sport after the latest incident involving the 800m star. He expressed disappointment and sadness with the conduct of Amos saying that it is disturbing to see all his hard work going down the drain. Otsetswes reaction comes after Amos joined the music industry where is known as DJ Zoro. The athlete was involved in a car accident over the weekend on his way to Francistown. Otsetswe said he has pleaded with Botswana National Olympics Committee (BNOC) and Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) to assist the athlete. He suggested that the two organisations should let Amos relocate to Mahalapye and stay with him. He stated that the athlete is no longer training because he is spending his time in music. Otsetswe explained that lack of training means that the athlete will not be ready for the next competition. When an athlete is injured, he should be rehabilitated instead of giving him a free reign. It is the responsibility of BNOC and BAA to take care of the welfare of athletes, said Otsetswe. He has not met Amos since the car accident but the athlete has informed him that he suffered minor injuries. BAA spokesperson, Ipolokeng Ramatshaba said he was not in a position to say about Amos. However he said the BAA is scheduled to meet Amos at a date to be decided later. Credit: Mmegi Newspaper
