On Fabregas to Chelsea: One would have thought that with a few hours to the mundial, all attention would be in Brazil. How wrong we were, a small club in London found a way of been relevant in discussion, so let me attempt to interrogate the issues 1. Shrewdness of business: Chelsea fans are quick to point to the amount they paid for Fabregas vis a vis that received for the shipping out of David Luis and praise their authorities for doing great business. First of all, its important to place on record that they was no competition for the guys signature. Paying £30m for an out-of-form, surplus player without competition is a massive rip off. But hey, they even paid £50m for Torress. 2. Wenger knows: I think the decision not to activate the buy-back clause was a carefully thought through one. Haven picked him as a 16 -yr old boy, Wenger knows that Fabs best years are behind him. Besides, Arsenal have no problem in the middle of the park. They just need a striker who can guarantee them in excess of 20 goals per season. 3. A team of traitors: Ashley Cole, Fernando Torres, Raul Miereles, Cesc Fabregas and the list continues 4. Yet another stick for asomasis ass: For a man who has cried all season that he lacked decisive strikers, isnt it interesting that his first signing is a midfielder? And what again was the reason for freezing out Juan Mata?? That he doesnt track back?? Does Fab track back?? He succeded in brainwashing his gullible worshippers that his first year was a rebuilding year and spent in excess of £100m in that direction. I sincerely pray to God he gets to sign all his transfer targets; Diego Costa, Felipe Luis, Carvalho and even add Cavani. Trust me, Mourinho will go a 2nd year trophyless and will be at the mercy of the Russian oligarchs trigger. 5. Moaning Barcelona fans: I struggle to understand why some barca fans are moaning and throwing scorn at their authorities. Honestly, what was Fabs role in barca. He always looked lost. His very signing was even illogical, and that is what should have been questioned not his shipping out. 6. On loyalty: I think its high time we fans begun accepting the FACT that there is no such thing as loyalty in football, at least not anymore. Forget what the players say when they are with u, when the dynamics change, they will change. Ive argued this position for years, since Torres signed for chelsea. To the displeasure of some of my kop fellows, Ive never held any grudge against him for leaving and I argued same for Suarez when he tried to engineer a move away from the club. Players are professionals who have set targets that needs to be met. Enjoy them whiles they are with u, and move on when they leave. I do not understand the pain of some arsenal fans. 7. Where does he fit in the chelsea squad: I struggle to see where Cesc will fit in the chelsea squad. Maybe, there is some truth in the Ramires to madrid rumours 8. Reality dawning on United fans: Every player man u have been linked with this season have flatly turned them down. I read some united fans attacking Ed Woodward for not signing Fab. Which top player would want to play for united team that is not in any european competition? Now u kniw ur real size. Few years of relative success might make u a big club but not a great one. Liverpool signed Luis Suarez when they were not in any european competition. Form is temporary, class is permanent. 9. T3kyer3ma mpur): Over the past few hours, Ive read an avalanche of quotes attributed to Fabregas. I learnt that in the past, he has said things like kill me if I ever play for chelsea, Mourinho is a talkative, I will not play for any other team in England apart from arsenal. If these quotes are true, then he will have a hell of time with the English press. 10. Another Fernando Torres: Isnt it interesting the similarities between the 2?? Both are spaniards and have incurred the wrath of the supporters of their former clubs in the UK. Another similarity is that, both will end their careers with the chelsea flop tag. #thoughts of the philosopher
