On July 8, Sheriff Blakely and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Slate Rd in Elkmont. The caller, Mark Scott, was shot in the foot by his girlfriend, Tina Scott. Tina had picked up Mark earlier this date and went to Ardmore. They got into an argument and Mark attempted to get out of the truck while it was still in motion. Tina stopped the vehicle at the intersection of New Garden Rd and Slate Rd. Mark took her purse which contained $5700 from inside the cab and a bicycle from the bed of the truck and rode off north bound on Slate Rd. Tina drove the truck to her residence where she got a hand gun and her son, and went to find Mark and her purse. Tina struck Mark’s bicycle with her truck. Mark got off his bicycle and started yelling at Tina and she hit him in the head with her fist. Mark and Tina began a physical altercation. Mark assaulted Tina’s son with an ax handle he retrieved from the back of the truck. Then, Tina shot Mark in the foot with a 9mm pistol. Both Mark and Tina were charged with Domestic Violence Assault 2nd. The gun has not been recovered at this time. Additional charges are pending.
