On March 31, my friend Chip passed away. Its a story this week that is just oh so sad. After two men worked together for 27 years at one refuge, one found the other in his home after he didnt show for work Monday morning. On the day that this same friend will retire celebrating his 27 years at a refuge, he will attend the funeral of his friend on the same day. Its just heart breaking. When I am at the refuge on Thursday, I will be filled with so many emotions as will everyone else. I will miss his stories, but most of all, Im going to miss his hugs and his smiles. He has always been kind to me and has been so appreciative of me and my hours at Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge.
