On Monday, PDP primaries for governorship races were conducted in several states across the country. As expected there were no elections in Edo, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Anambra, Bayelsa and Kogi states, which are not expected to hold governorship elections next February when the rest of the nation goes to the polls. In addition, the election was cancelled in Ogun state, following a statement by the national publicity secretary. However an election was still conducted which might not be recognised. In that election, Gboyega Isiaka was elected with 750 votes, while Kayode Amusan was runner-up with 150. Taraba state also did not have an election as the acting governor Sani Danladi led a delegation to the national secretariat in Abuja to protest because the current delegates list favours his predecessor, Garba Umar, who was acting governor at the time the congresses were held. Election was also cancelled in Kwara where there was a free-for-all fight among delegates leading to the fleeing of electoral officers. Borno also did not hold elections. In Sokoto, after accreditation had taken place, the deputy governor, Mukthar Shagari, who is also a candidate, asked that no voting should take place. He wrote a petition to the party exco, alleging discrepancies in the list of delegates. - See more at: abujavoice/details-of-pdp-governorship-primaries-across-the-states/#sthash.yR3TNURB.dpuf
