On Sunday morning, LaPorte Police responded to the McDonalds on 164 Pine Lake Avenue to investigate reports of a man swinging around a knife and making threats. Witnesses told police that 43-year-old Gerald S. Anderson was inside the restaurant and walking towards the east doors when he pulled out a butterfly-style knife and started to swing it around with the blade in the open position. He then looked at the witnesses and their families and warned them that if they came outside he would kill them, according to the report.
