One century ago -- during the 1914 hurricane season in the northeast Pacific -- well, nothing was known to happen. The reconstructed Northern Hemisphere Map Series from that year, as well as the book of low tracks constructed from those maps, showed no trackable tropical cyclones. I have yet to turn up evidence of a tropical cyclone that year from any source, nor has wikipedia. There should have been some shipping passing through the western Caribbean and tropical eastern Pacific since the Panama Canal opened on August 15, 1914. The Atlantic has only one known TS that season. Either were missing a lot of information from 1914, or it was a truly unique year in the TC record for the northern half of the Western Hemisphere. #amystery
