On This Day In Herstory. On December 18, 1940, Judy is in the studio late on a Wednesday night recording four songs from three of her MGM pictures for Decca Records. Her beau, David Rose, is also in the studio directing the accompanying orchestra. Judys first recording, Im Always Chasing Rainbows, will be featured in Ziegfeld Girl which is currently in production. The second recording, Our Love Affair, is from Judys picture with costar, Mickey Rooney, Strike Up The Band, which came out in theaters in September. These songs will be released on sides B and A respectively on a 78 single. The third and fourth recordings are from Judys latest movie which opened in theaters on November 22, Little Nellie Kelly. A Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow and Its A Great Day For The Irish will be released on sides B and A respectively on another 78 single.
