On Wednesday when I went up the fells my plan was to start the building of a cairn in memory of Alex and indeed of all our other Brothers who have gone on before us. I picked a spot on the flanks of a mountain called Great Bourne, it has wonderful views over wild Ennerdale and out to the Irish Sea, this will enable them to keep a weather eye open for any targets lurking out there. Although not very good at that kind of thing I said a prayer and Im sure the import got across to him. Ive taken some pictures of the start of the cairn and every time I am up that way I will add to it. RIP Alex, Ken and all those others too numerous to mention but they will always be with us in spirit. The pictures are in order 1) The start of the cairn 2) My two pay respects Alex loved his dog 3) The cairn from the closest path 4) View to the mountains at the top of Ennerdale 5) Ennerdale Water and Crag Fell 6) Looking out towards the distant Irish Sea and the Scottish Galloway coast
