The APRISA-Association of Puerto Ricans in San Antonio mission has always been to create social, cultural, artistic, educational events that promote our culture and our traditions. In an attempt to live our mission, we have been allowing promotion and/or promoting events for other organizations with our similar goals, for the benefits of ALL Boricuas in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Killeen..... Because of this, we have received (not too nice) messages related to the PR festival that took place yesterday. Let me clarify that APRISA is in no way related to the Sociedad Herencia Puertorriqueña organization that sponsors that event. All we probably did, was share their invite, for others to know that there was a PR event coming up. We dont want to stop promoting other organization events, because we believe that we are benefiting all Boricuas, giving them a choice to attend as many of our Boricuas events as possible. We ask that you carefully read those invites to know who the sponsor is. It is not always us. Please...get to know us as an organization and know that if you dont see our logo...it is not us. As of now, we will no longer promote events from non-inclusive organizations or any other event that goes against our mission of bringing us together.
