On the Second Day of Christmas....Sweet Georgia Peach helped us organize and get ready the donations OCPBR collected for the OC Shelter dogs, which we will drop off this morning. What a good little helper! There are so many options for helping needy dogs this season. If you have the ability to open your home temporarily to a homeless Pittie, you can foster, with all the financial and other support of OCPBR or your local rescue. If your current situation isnt conducive to fostering a dog, you can always volunteer with a local rescue or shelter to help fundraise, walk the dogs, take their photos to help get them adopted, and a million other little things that are needed on a daily basis. If you dont have the time to volunteer, you can always make a much needed donation to a rescue whose work you support. And if you dont have the money, you can always still help in the form of advocating for Pit Bulls and all dogs or animals. Advocates can stay informed by subscribing to blogs and following sites like ours that continually offer updates on pending laws and current stories of Pitties in the news. And watch your local city council to see when dog-related proposals are going to be addressed and speak out and be heard. Bookmark and follow these pages, blogs and sites to stay informed and arm yourself with facts: Pit Bulletin Legal News KC Dog Blog: btoellner.typepad/kcdogblog/ National Canine Research Council: nationalcanineresearchcouncil Animal Law: https://animallaw.info/articles/armpusstatedoglaws.htm Pit Bull Rescue Central: pbrc.net And many, many more. Stay involved. Stay active. Stay vocal. If no one speaks up, nothing will change. We can make a difference together. Thank you!
