On the journey to become whole, healthy and happy. I decided to do something that excited me and filled me with some trepidation. I decided to embark on the whole30, today is the beginning of a 14 day trial period, with November marking the start of the full 30. I have been inspired by some friends who completed it recently and I decided, you know what, I am the master of my body and I know this will be good for me and will be the thing to help me kick some bad habits! Today was day 1 - no coffee and excitingly I am still alive, and feeling OK. If you are after a new detox or nutrition plan, check this one out whole30 The stand outs for me - its not about how much weight you lose, its about creating new behaviours and choosing to put foods into your mouth for your bodies health and happiness, not the emotional hooks it has on you or the social pressures you may feel. If you have a healthy lifestyle then your body reflects this. Think you wanna give it a go, or want to share support for the movement. Please let me know how you went and the highlights for you. Remember, fad diets may not always be healthy. Do your research and check in with your why. Dont diet and detox on ridiculous watermelon diets (or similar) as there is no way you will give your body the essential micronutrients it requires to sustain full physiologic functioning. Our bodies are incredible, and can create from other molecules what it needs, but if you are deficient in the essential ones because of the foods you are consuming then you wont be able to sustain your output - in cognition or physically, and you will probably start to feel funny. I know I do! Our bodies are incredible, but they require our support and love. How did you love your body today? Heres to doing new things that scare and excite us ...
