On this date in 1868 Christopher Latham Sholes received a patent for an invention he called a Type-Writer. (It typed capital letters - some people seem to still do that.) One of my only genuine regrets was not choosing Typing as an elective in High School. If I could have only had a glimpse of what was coming! Here is the orchestral composition called The Typewriter where it is included as an inststrument in the symphony. Wasnt this the musical theme of a TV show in the 50s or 60s? Am almost certan it was!
