On this warm Friday morn, during an early run, a small flock of Canadian geese were swimming across the still waters of a small pond; three white swans, elegant and regal, were gracefully gliding across the ancient waters of Spy Pond before soaring off into the blue heavens toward the distant horizon; and hundreds of white water lilies, in full bloom, adorned the sleepy and tranquil waters of the Mystic River. The sun, slowly rising higher into the shimmering blue heavens and spreading its radiant warmth throughout the run, glistened off the greenish waters of the small pond; glimmered off the bluish waters of Spy Pond; and sparkled off the brownish waters of the Mystic River. And, as my run took me on a journey through an old cemetery and marshlands, along a rustic bike path, and around the ancient and timeless bodies of water, the sky was a crystal clear blue; the landscape was a verdant and lush green; the air was warm and pleasant; a breeze, with just a hint of coolness that quickly dissipated, was blowing, and the sun drenched both the waters and the landscape with a fresh, healthy yellow glow. And, on the ground throughout the run, shadows were dancing and swirling as the sun, leafy green trees and languid breeze combined to create a elegant mosaic of dark shadows of varying shapes, sizes and designs that danced across the ground as the breeze gently swayed the leafy green trees that were sparkling in the radiant sunshine. And, as the miles passed and I moved through the verdant landscape, with the shimmering blue heavens, with nary a cloud in sight, in the high background, the fresh rays and warmth of the rising sun gently caressed my skin and my spirit even as the shadows dancing across the ground reminded me of both the fleeting nature of this day, and time itself and of the importance of fully embracing each moment and each challenge with passion, determination, dedication, and a bright smile:-)
