Once I was dating this girl and we went back to her house around - TopicsExpress

Once I was dating this girl and we went back to her house around 5am after some kind of awful evening at Universal in Bendigo where I was kicked out for being silly and then let back in through the side door because I went to primary school with one of the security guards who in Grade 4 threw scissors at my head, so he owed me. We sat out the back of her house, talking smack and then around 6.30am heard her Dad get up and start making toast. She went in first to try and break the news that there was a strange boy in his backyard, but I thought it was taking too long and figured it would be best if I was proactive and introduced myself to him. Except when I stood up, I tripped over and ended up going head first through the blinds, getting all tangled up, having to wave at him and say ‘nice to meet you’ whilst he and his daughter ran over to help me out. I thought of how strange it must be to be a father at that point and have some pale faced idiot creeping around your daughter. Then I kind of lost touch with that girl; we both got degrees, got engaged/married, moved around, moved up the social ladder. Don’t know if she thinks about that ridiculous morning much. This song is loosely based on that. Just the not knowing what someone else thinks or feels really and no longer being in a position to ask them. The only thing you have to go by is Facebook posts, which aren’t always 100% truthful and often a bit of a secret competition of who is ‘doing better’ and the like. It’s only called Full Label Love as I wanted to give a shout out to the Guangzhou crew, Full Label. Best guys ever. pairs.bandcamp/track/full-label-love
