Once again the bizarre values & illogic of the Progressive media class are revealed in the attached piece appearing today in James Tarantos incredibly interesting & often hilarious blog at THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. To summarize, the S.I. Newhouse School School of Public Communications (Proud father alert...one of my six kids was the top graduate in Newhouse last year!!!) invited a photojournalist who had spent an extended time photographing (exploiting???) the misery of Ebola victims in West Africa to deliver a presentation to the schools students twenty-one days after returning from the Hot Zone, during which he self-monitored & concluded he was not infected NOR WAS HE A CARRIER OF THE DISEASE. Someone at SU apparently caught onto the fact that Obama Administration shills in the government & the media who had been claiming daily that in Kevin Bacons words from ANIMAL HOUSE, Stay calm, there is no need to panic, have been bullshitting America since the beginning of the epidemic. Of course most of what Obama Talking Heads (note the many 80s references) say daily is bullshit, but it doesnt always involve a transferable, death-dealing disease whose infectious period is becoming less certain daily. Last Friday, for example, reliable medical experts, rather than the political hack Obama appointed as Ebola Czar, (whose job seems to be to help Ebola become as popular as Obamacare), announced that the infectious period may have to be viewed as extending to 42-days in some cases. Around the same time other actual doctors noted the disease manifests itself with a range of symptoms & few victims have the same set & still other experienced physicians questioned the Obama-statements that those not exhibiting known symptoms cannot be infectious to those with whom they share close contact. More Obama-BS!!! Finally, the week ended when someone decided to open an old ARMY FIELD MANUAL, which stated that Ebola had been known 15-years ago to have possibly mutated into an airborne form of transmission. What is a Dean to do??? Since it is now fairly obvious that the Obameister & his drone at the CDC either know very little about the horrible disease they are exposing the American people to daily for no obvious reason, or they are again lying about what they do know. With actual knowledge uncertain, the Dean of the Newhouse School elected to withdraw the invitation to the potentially infected (21-days = clean???) photojournalist rather than put the lives of the SU community at risk, however remote that horrible situation might ultimately prove to have been. The familiar adage, Never risk more than you can afford to lose comes to mind, but apparently not among the geniuses at NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER MAGAZINE, who were offended that the grown-ups at Syracuse preferred to wait until they could quantify the potential death & destruction risk rather than casting dice with the lives of the tens of thousands of students, faculty & other employees at what is actually a large town or small city. Apparently the Utopian fantasy that somehow bringing Ebola to America will establish solidarity with the dying in Africa that is driving Obamite policies these days has made the jump to the cognitively limited denizens of the Progressive fever swamps!!! Who could have foreseen that development??? One ponders whether a connection between Obamas stated goal of bringing our nation down to the level of the socialist & authoritarian regimes of the world is somehow lurking in the amygdalas of those making the string of horrific decisions concerning out of the Obama White House & the Obama CDC. While this is an impossible idea to even consider, no more rational explanation has been advanced as to how Obama healthcare policies, including the present Ebola-related screw-ups, just keep on coming. When one finds oneself in an impossible situation, folk wisdom recommends as a first step that one stop digging, which in this case translates into STOP LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE & TRY TELLING US ACTUAL FACTS RATHER THAN SPIN!!! Im sure the new Director of Ebola-policy will consider this approach, but the over & under in my neighborhood is that consideration of telling the American people the truth will be measured in nano-seconds.
